Today's Reading:

Scripture

Mark 11:25–26 (NKJV)
“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

Observation

Jesus teaches that forgiveness is not optional for a believer. It is a requirement, especially when we come before God in prayer.
Unforgiveness blocks our relationship with God, shuts our spiritual hearing, and hinders His blessings.

God knows when people hurt us deeply—especially betrayal. Yet He calls us to forgive, not because the person deserves it, but because God wants to set our hearts free.

Just as God allowed Joseph to be betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, and forgotten in prison, God can also allow betrayal in our lives—not to destroy us, but to position us.
Joseph later told his brothers:

“You meant evil against me; but God meant it for good…” (Genesis 50:20)

Betrayal becomes a tool God uses to move us into His purpose.
People’s actions may be wrong, but God’s plan is still right.

Application

I may have experienced betrayal, disappointment, or deep hurt.

But God sees everything, and He is not surprised.

Like Joseph, what others meant for harm can become the very thing God uses to lift, protect, and establish me.

Holding unforgiveness only keeps me stuck in the pain; but forgiveness releases God’s favor and healing in my life.

I choose to forgive—not to excuse the wrong, but to obey God and walk in His freedom.

Forgiveness allows God to continue His work in me, turning betrayal into blessing.

Ask yourself today:
✔ Who do I need to forgive?
✔ What wound have I been carrying?
✔ Am I willing to let God handle the justice while I release the pain?

Prayer

Dear God,

Thank You for reminding me that forgiveness is part of my worship. Lord, You know the betrayals, disappointments, and hurts I’ve faced. Sometimes it feels unfair and painful, but today I choose to forgive. I release every person who has wronged me, just as Joseph forgave his brothers.

Turn every betrayal into a blessing. Turn every wound into wisdom. Heal my heart and restore anything that was damaged. Help me walk in freedom, peace, and obedience to You. Thank You for forgiving me, guiding me, and working all things together for my good.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
