“Forgiven to Forgive: The Heart of Mercy”

Jesus teaches that forgiveness has no limits. In the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant, we’re reminded that God has cancelled our greatest debt — our sins — and calls us to show the same mercy to others. True forgiveness flows from a heart transformed by grace.

TODAY’s READING:

📖 Scripture

“So Jesus said to them, ‘Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.’”
— Matthew 17:20 (NKJV)

Observation:

After coming down from the mountain, Jesus met a desperate father whose son suffered from seizures and demonic attacks. The disciples had tried but failed to heal the boy. Jesus rebuked the demon, and the boy was instantly healed. Later, the disciples asked why they couldn’t cast it out. Jesus explained that it was because of their unbelief.
He taught that even a tiny amount of genuine faith—like a mustard seed—has the power to accomplish great things. The focus isn’t the size of our faith but the strength of the God in whom our faith rests.

Application:

There are moments when I feel like the disciples—trying hard but failing, wondering why my prayers seem unanswered. Jesus reminds me that faith, even small, when rooted in Him, can move mountains. My “mountains” may be struggles, fears, or impossible situations, but they can move through faith in God’s power, not my own effort.
Today, I choose to trust Him more and doubt less. I will bring my concerns to Jesus with mustard-seed faith, believing that He can do the impossible.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for reminding me that even the smallest faith can move mountains when it’s placed in You. Forgive me for the times I doubt Your power or focus on my limitations. Strengthen my faith today, and help me trust You in every situation. Teach me to pray with confidence and to rely on Your strength, not my own. In Your mighty name, Amen.
